Introduction of CNPCNP
On June 2, 2008, CNPC signed a Production Sharing Agreement (Production Sharing Agreement, hereinafter referred to as PSA) with the Ministry of Petroleum of Niger for the Agadem block. CNPC Niger Petroleum S.A. (CNPC Niger Petroleum Company, hereinafter referred to as "CNPCNP" or the "Company") was registered and established on June 30, 2008 according to the PSA Agreement and the Unified Company Law of the Economic Community of West Africa, and headquartered in Niamey, the capital of Niger.
The business scope of CNPCNP is exploration and development under the PSA contract. According to the letter from Ministry of Petroleum on March 18, 2011, the pipeline project was merged into CNPCNP and managed by CNPCNP. In addition, CNPC and the Niger government jointly invested in the construction of a refinery in the Zinder area, and an oil field in the Agadem Block.
On September 30, 2011, the Phase I Project of the Agadem Oilfield was successfully put into production. The Phase II Project has been also put into production in March 2024.
